Shaodan Zhang


Shaodan Zhang is a PhD student in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures with a specialization in pre-modern Chinese history at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests include social history of late imperial China, Islam and Muslims in China. Her dissertation project examines everyday life and social networks of Chinese Muslims in the Qing Empire (1644-1911) from the perspectives of public culture, law, and identity.
