There will be the 3rd Annual Korean Speaking Contest on Friday, April 6. The Contest is open to anyone who can speak Korean so feel free to forward this to your friends who may be interested.

Beginner/Intermediate: (1) Do not have a parent who is a native speaker of Korean (except for those currently registered in KOR 222) (2) Studied the Korean language for less than 240 hours (4 semesters) (3) Not stayed in Korea for more than a total of six months after the age of six (4) No visual aids such as power point slides allowed during speech

Advanced: (1) Studied Korean language over 240 hours (No limit on the hours of study) (2) Not stayed in Korea for more than 1 year after the age of six (please talk to your teacher about this qualification if you have any question) (3) No visual aids such as power point slides allowed during speech

Skit: (1) No limit on the hours of study (2) Not stayed in Korea for more than 1 year after the age of six (3) No visual aids such as power point slides allowed (4) Contestants in the other categories may also compete in this category

The winners from Beginning/Intermediate, Advanced, and Skit categories will be awarded the gift certificates by the Consulate General of Korea in Chicago.
