The Second Midwest Korean Speech Contest will be held at Northwestern University on Saturday, April 18 from 1:00 to 6 pm. All participants will have opportunities to experience Korean culture, followed by Korean dinner.

[Eligibility] 

The winner in each level (beginning, intermediate and advanced) at the 5th UIUC Korean Speech Contest, which will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2020, will be eligible to compete at this contest. Contestants should be a college student who is currently taking or has taken within a year a Korean language course at a college or university in the Midwest area.

[Requirements]

Speech without written notes or script

PPT illustration without text (e.g., visual images only) may be used.

Type-written script should be submitted when registering online.

[Speech length]

Beginning: 2 and 1/2 minutes max.

Intermediate: 3 and 1/2 minutes max.

Advanced: 5 minutes

All contestants and participants should register by April 3, 2020. More information will be announced later on where to register online.
