As a companion event to the 2022 Kang lecture, EALC and CEAPS are proud to host a symposium on "Reading and Reception of Canonical Texts in East Asia". In this panel, three renowned experts discuss the rich reception histories of several major canonical texts of China, Korea, and Japan. Analyzing iterations in media ranging from ancient bronze vessels to modern manga and film, the three panelists explore the rich cultural life of these works from ancient times to the present.
