The 6th Annual UIUC Korean Speech Contest will be held in person at 7 pm in Lincoln Hall Room 1000 on Thursday, March 23, 2023. The event is co-sponsored by the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures [EALC] and the Center of East Asian and Pacific Studies [CEAPS]. This event is open to all.
Students who currently take KOR courses will be given an extra-credit for their participation in the Contest. In addition, a winner in each level will be awarded with a gift card and those who are currently taking or have taken KOR classes within a year will be eligible to compete in the the Annual Midwest Korean Speech Contest at Northwestern University on Saturday, April 1, 2023. . The 1st place winners at each level in the Mid-West Korean Speech Contest will be awarded with a tuition-free opportunity to study in Korea during summer as well as a cash award. There will be other cash awards to the 2nd and 3rd place winners and miscellaneous awards for the contestants at the Midwest Korean Speech Contest.
