G27 in Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics Building (LCLB)

The next Korean Proficiency Test (KPT) will be scheduled for an in-person administration at 9:30 AM [CT] on Friday, January 17, 2025. Please note that this test will not be administered online. 

  • Time: 9:30 am to 12 pm (CST) on Friday, January 17, 2025
  • Location: G 27, LCLB (in the basement, marked "G" in the elevator)

The deadline to register for the test is midnight US Central Time on Friday January 10, 2025.

Students must register with their illinois.edu email account, which has their Net ID. Those registered with other email accounts won’t be able to access the Korean placement test. 

After you register, you will receive a confirmation email. Please keep a copy of it as it is needed to verify your registration. Bring a pen/pencil, a photo ID (e.g., I-card, passport) and a copy of the confirmation email to the test site.

You can cancel your registration prior to the test if you won't be able to attend by logging back into the registration form and selecting "Cancel my registration" and saving.

Placement results:

Only those who are placed into one of KOR courses at UIUC will receive their placement test result via email the next day after the test date. Students who pass out of all KOR courses will not receive an email until 2-3 weeks later. See "Test scores" below.

Test scores:

You will receive an email of the placement test result in 2-3 weeks following the exam. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact slclundergradservices@illinois.edu.
