We are pleased to announce that Professor Jeeyoung Ha has been appointed as the new Assistant Head of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures (EALC) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

I’m delighted to step into the role of Assistant Head of the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures this fall! Having been part of this community since 2004, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing our department’s growth and the incredible work we do together.

Short Bio:
Professor Jeeyoung Ahn Ha has been the Director of the Korean Language Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign since 2004. She specializes in curricular development, language pedagogy and assessment, and teacher training. Professor Ha has actively involved in action research and collaborative projects at all levels. She currently serves as the president of the Midwest Teachers of Korean (MATK).
