The Japanese language program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) offers language courses of four levels from elementary to fourth-year.  While each focusing on particular skill areas, all courses aim at developing comprehensive language ability that enables culturally-appropriate behaviors and communication. Japanese Language Program News & Announcements

  • The Japanese placement test will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Room G30 of the Foreign Languages Building. The Korean placement test will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. to noon in Room G27 of the Foreign Languages Building.
  • FLAS Fellowships support graduate and undergraduate study in modern foreign languages in combination with area studies, international studies, or international or area aspects of professional studies. Students from all departments and professional schools are encouraged to apply.
  • Actus Consulting Group is recruiting Japanese speakers for various entry positions in Japanese companies in the U.S.
